YEBCT, Part The Second

I'm hoping it's less annoying that these are huge photo posts if I break them if not. If not, well, fine then, be annoyed.

December: Holiday Craftiness
Well, all right, the first of these was actually for the boy's birthday, rather than the holiday per se, but I neglected to photograph my Christmas cookies. So instead you get the Lady Baltimore cake I agonized over.

And here's the beer we brewed, a lovely Anchor Porter for the cold New England winter.

Lastly, we have the ornament I made for the family Christmas party. A few years ago my uncle required that we bring handmade ornaments to his house and vote on them. 21 people, from 55-11, all hand-crafting ornaments. It's simultaneously irritating and kind of fun.

And here he is with soy sauce. Why, you ask? Because he can't stand up by himself, I reply.

I should have painted his mouth with a smaller brush, but I'm not the world's greatest painter. The hat's a quick hand knit job though, because I know my strengths. It was cuter prior to the intense hot gluing to his head. His name is the X-Mas 2005.

So there you have it. Bizarro crafts on whtich I spent the last three months. As is evidenced by some of them, I've been busy with some socializing as well. It's not ALL been fun and games, but this is not the forum for the draggy bits - we like a happy blog here.

Will 2006 bring more strange craft adventures? Absolutely. Will it bring more than 6 posts in this blog? I cannot say. In the immortal words of Bart Simpson, "I'll try to try." Have a lovely rest of your holiday season, kids, and if you've made any crafts, bizarre or otherwise, I'd love to hear about 'em.

Year End Bizarre Craft Time Part the First

Apologies to those who actually read this that I haven't been posting. I haven't been particularly inspired lately, word-wise. However, since I've been inspired in other ways lately, tonight is a very special update: weird craft projects I've done in the past three months, in chronological order (or as a close as I can remember. Like YOU'RE going to know if it's any different)

October: Halloween Craftiness

Ha ha, I refuse to explain this one.

November: Knitted Craftiness

These are slippers that I knit, prior to felting them. They are essentially gigantic socks. Felting them makes them smaller gigantic socks.

And this is the scarf I knit and felted for my youngest sister. Both patterns are from the utterly fantastic Knitty.
